For some reason despite all of the tricks Feferi pulls on Dave, he still seems to think she's the better of the two. Maybe it's because he has some side issues he needs to work out, but it's mostly just because she's so darn adorable. Her wicked ways still catch him by surprise, somehow. Just goes to show he should listen to Eridan more often.
